Before Michael Tkacz even finished high school, he was asked what came next. He had jobs lined up — but his father mentioned the military. He signed up and was sworn in that April, two months before graduation. Two weeks after walking across the stage, he left for Basic Training.
What followed was 42 years in uniform, defending this country and the freedoms our flag stands for. In 2004 he deployed to Iraq, leaving his family behind for more than fourteen months, because he believed in what he was fighting for.
When he reached mandatory retirement age, something still felt unfinished. So he chose to keep serving the same way he always had — protecting freedom. That is why he registered to run for State Representative.
Michael and his wife live in Manchester and run their business right here in Ward 6. What happens in this city doesn't just affect them as homeowners — it affects them as business owners too. Your concerns are truly theirs as well.

Michael sees no difference between the oath he took at eighteen and the one he'd take in Concord. Then he fought for freedom. Now he can vote to preserve it.
His goal in the State House is straightforward: keep public safety a priority across New Hampshire — including through thoughtful immigration policy — and protect our most widely discussed rights, the First and Second Amendments.
He also holds firmly to something too often forgotten: mutual respect for differing views strengthens our shared commitment to liberty in the Land of the Free. Anyone living in the Live Free or Die state values a peaceful life and an unprovoked lifestyle.

Where He Stands
Education
Michael sees students working part time who struggle to count out basic change to a customer. He wants to ensure the basics — reading, writing and arithmetic — are taught well enough to carry young people through life, rather than subjects that should stay out of the classroom until students are old enough to think for themselves. That means real transparency with parents about what is taught every school year, appropriate oversight through the school board, and honest support for our teachers.
Public Safety
On illegal immigration and homelessness, the principle is simple: money needs to go where it is genuinely needed for the citizens of our free country and state — not where other politicians want to put it. Our own citizens should always be first in line to get housed and off the streets. Safe neighborhoods and secure communities are the foundation everything else is built on.
Drug Use & Recovery
Michael is against needle exchange programs — those needles still end up in playgrounds and on the streets where children play and walk to school. He would rather see that time and money invested in getting people off drugs and into a cleaner, better life. His view is that exchange programs risk normalizing use instead of focusing fully on recovery. Sustained efforts to reduce use and sales, paired with real support for those seeking better health, serve us far better.
